Kyrenia is often described as colonial and boasts a horse shoe shaped harbour which has proved to be the focal point of the town, with its colourful fishing boats and yachts, and with its lively bars and cafes, is the heart of Kyrenia, as much for locals and has proved, to be a significant tourist attraction.
